Excavating Contractor · Middle Tennessee
Site work done right, since 2000.
Excavation, land clearing, grading and drainage across Cumberland County and Middle Tennessee. One insured crew runs the site from start to finish — one point of contact, one schedule to keep track of.
What we do
Everything the site needs, in one place
Most projects need more than one thing done — clearing, then excavation, then grading, often a driveway and a culvert before it’s finished. We line the whole sequence up and manage it start to finish.
Land & Lot Clearing
Brush, timber and undergrowth taken down and hauled off so the lot is ready to build.
View service →Land Consulting
Thinking about buying land? We walk it with you first and tell you what it would take to build on. Paid consultation.
View service →
Excavation
Footings, basements, ponds and utility trenches dug to grade and to plan.
View service →
Grading
Rough and final grading that moves water away from the structure, not toward it.
View service →
Driveways
New gravel drives, re-grading and resurfacing, cut for drainage and built to last.
View service →
Culverts
Pipe sized and set at the right fall so the ditch line actually carries the water.
View service →
Tree & Stump Removal
Trees dropped, stumps grubbed out, and the root ball cleaned up.
View service →

Outbuildings, slabs and structures taken down, loaded out and disposed of.
View service →

Foundations and trenches backfilled and compacted with the right material.
View service →

Overgrown ground, cut back down
Rotary cutting, brush cutting and bush hogging — same idea, different ground. When a field, fence row or vacant lot gets away from you, it takes tracked heavy equipment with a cutting head built for standing brush, not lawn equipment on a mowing deck.
Rotary Cutting
Heavy-duty cutting heads that chew through saplings, briars and stalks a finish mower would stall out in.
Brush Cutting
Fence rows, ditch banks, trails and grown-up edges cut back so you can get equipment — and eyes — around the property again.
Bush Hogging
Pastures, fields and vacant lots knocked back down in a pass — one time to clean it up, or on a schedule to keep it that way. Tracked machines get into ground a wheeled rig would bog down in.
Champion Contracting did an amazing job on clearing the acreage. Jeff was very knowledgeable, had outstanding work ethic and a true professional. I would highly recommend Jeff for all your land clearing and excavation needs.
Who you’re hiring
Site work done right, since 2000
Champion Contracting has been doing excavation, land clearing and site work in Middle Tennessee since 2000. We’re insured, we’re locally owned and operated, and we manage your project from the first walk-through to the final cleanup.
Most projects need more than one thing done. A building site usually needs clearing, then excavation, then grading, and often a driveway and a culvert before it’s finished. Because we manage the whole sequence, you’re not the one chasing several contractors and hoping their schedules line up.
We work for home owners, for other contractors, and for government agencies — and we’re big enough to have the equipment and experience to handle the project while still being small enough to give it real attention.
Two things worth reading before you hire anyone
If you don’t hire this kind of contractor often, a bit of background makes the quotes you receive much easier to compare:
- How to choose an excavating contractor you can trust What to check on insurance, equipment, drainage know-how and cleanup — and why the cheapest number is often the most expensive one.
- Dirt work explained What backfill, fill dirt, topsoil, grading and grubbing actually mean, so a quote reads clearly.
